      Description :

      A pentavalent vaccine, also known as a 5-in-1 vaccine, is a combination vaccine with five individual vaccines conjugated into one. Pentavalent vaccine provides protection to a child from 5 life-threatening diseases – Diphtheria, Pertussis, Tetanus, Polio and Hib. 

       

      Age Criteria : 

      6 weeks – 24 months of age.

       

      Doses : 

      3 Doses.

       

      Interval :

      • Interval at least 1 month
      • Booster recommended preferrably bet 12-18 months of age
      • Another booster 4-6 yrs old (DtaP-IPV)

       

      Contra-Indication :

      A confirmed anaphylactic reaction to any component of the vaccine.

       

      Adverse Effect :

      Swelling, pain and redness at the injection site, loss of appetite, fever of 38ºC or more, tiredness, abnormal crying, irritability and restlessness.
